Steps to Apply for a Visa
Even though the each visa application is unique, the following steps will guide you the process.
Step 1- Introduction: Learn more about the nonimmigrant visa process

Step 2-Schedule an appointment

Step 3-Gather the necessary documentation for your interview
Step 4-Fill out the visa application
The DS-160 application must be filled out on-line and the bar code should be printed on a white letter-size sheet of paper. Please ensure the bar code is legible.
Step 5-Take a photograph (only applies to children under 7 years of age)
Photograph requirements.
Step 6-Pay the non-refundable fee for the visa application
Applicants throughout the world pay a non-refundable visa fee of $131 USD. This amount (or the equivalent in Mexican pesos) must be paid at a Banamex branch.
Step 7-Come to the consulate for your interview
Recommendations, restricted articles and security policies.
Step 8-Delivery of your visa
The normal process time for a laser visa is of 30 working days (except those applicants with additional administrative processing). The normal process time of other visa categories is two to five working days.
