NONIMMIGRANT VISAS
General Information
Nonimmigrant visas are issued to foreign national who wish to enter the United States temporarily or with tourist, business, school, or temporary work purposes. This visa DOES NOT give you the permission to reside, work or receive any kind of payment for your services while you are in the United States.
Starting on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009, the United States Consulate General in Matamoros does not accept visa applications from Mexican citizens that reside outside of the State of Tamaulipas. In addition, visa applications from applicants that reside in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, will not be accepted. Interested visa applicants must apply at the nearest consulate to their home address. Please consult the website that corresponds to the Consulate where you will apply for a visa, due to the fact that some procedures and requirements may vary.
